Waters of Grace: What you'll find in the book

Waters of Grace is not only a memoir, but every chapter contains basic truths about Christianity. The book was designed to encourage and equip believers, as well as to challenge skeptics and agnostics. Below you'll find a preview of what the first five chapters contain.

Beginnings

In the depth of our souls, there's this idea that in order to get close to God we need to "fix" ourselves first. But when are we done fixing ourselves? When are we good enough to present ourselves to God? The truth is that we are never good enough. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. God made a way for us to be reconciled with Him.

The Problem with Idols

When you hear the word "idol" what comes to mind? For most of us, images of some acient tribe bowing down to a statute comes to mind. However, idols of the heart are more prevalent than ever in our American church culture. Essentially, an idol is someone or something that takes the place in our lives that only belongs to God. How do know what idols look like? This chapter looks to answer that question.

The Water Gun Thief

The grace of God is a scandalous thing. It shocked the Pharisees and it still shocks the religious people of today. The shocking message of the gospel is that we are sinners saved by grace. We don't contribute anything to our salvation, for it is a gift from God.

A Beautiful Mind

Atheists paint a false war between science and religion, specifically Christianity. They claim that in order to believe in God we must check our brains at the door. However, to believe in evolution and the Big Bang requires more faith than to see the evidence of Intelligent Design all around us. Why are today's militant atheists raging a ferocious war against Christianity? This chapter digs deep into what is truly going on.

Finding Where to Belong

Have you ever felt the Holy Spirit tell you to do something, to share the gospel with someone, only to find yourself afraid of doing so? You are not alone. We have all been there before, but there's a way out from the fear of man.
